Sickness becomes her.
Eyes gleam.
Cheeks glow.
Lips twitch into a tired smile.
Wet hair curls just so.
Camera-ready tendrils
decorate her pillow.
Her forehead glistens under
a fine mist of sweat.
Her bosom heaves prettily
with each labored breath.

She is limp and languid,
a damp, translucent dumpling,
waiting to be consumed.
